Asahi Super Dry - Dry Premium - Kaoritate Koku no Premium

Not impressed at all. Asahi is going for the impossible and miserably fails. I have a feeling that their product philosophy is to maintain the Asahi Super Dry taste but at the same time come up with something new. Limited design freedom results in limited success.

Launch: Feb. 17, 2015
Ingredients: Malt, hops, rice, corn, starch
Alcohol content: 6.5%
Tax category: Beer

Asahi Craftmanship Dry Porter

Wow! Truly great brew. I am not really into porter, but this one might just change my mind about it.
The can design is kind of simple, but it is still a nice change compared to the usual "ASAHI and same paint slapped around it" type of design.

Name: Asahi Craftmanship Dry Porter
Launch: Feb. 10, 2015

Ingredients: Malt, hops
Alcohol content: 6%
Tax category: Beer
Company: Asahi Breweries

Note: Sold at convenience stores only.

Asahi Super Dry - Dry Premium - Hatsushikomi Premium

This one was a huge disappointment. Too watery and lacks any real beer taste. And what's with the name? Asahi Super Dry - Dry Premium - Hatsushikomi Premium. Too long and two words are used twice in it. My guess is that they wanted to make sure that the consumer understands that this beer is REALLY dry and REALLY premium.

Name: Asahi Super Dry - Dry Premium - Hatsushikomi Premium
Launch: Dec. 24, 2014
Ingredients: Malt, hops, rice, corn, starch
Alcohol content: 6%
Tax category: Beer
Company: Asahi Breweries

Note: Limited edition.

Asahi Beer Spritzer

Tastes more like wine, less like beer. I really don't get what the product philosophy behind a hybrid drink like this one. People who wanna drink beer will buy beer and people who wanna drink wine will buy wine. Only beer bloggers like me and those unfortunate ones who left their glasses home while out shopping would buy such a funky product.

Asahi The Master

Great initial flavor with bitter aftertaste as you would expect it from a pilsner. I wonder why it is not as popular as the Super Dry… The can design is also great. Looks kinda like some high-end import. The only downside this beer has that it is really hard to come by. I mostly see it at major liquor shops like Yamaya.

Name: Asahi The Master
Launch: May 26, 2009
Ingredients: Malt, hops
Alcohol content: 5.5%
Tax category: Beer
Company: Asahi Breweries

Asahi Super Dry

Had it many times before, but was never impressed with it. I just bought this can so I can upload a picture of it. It is just too watery for me. Don’t understand how it could become the king of beers in Japan. The can design is also a disaster. Way too minimalistic. When I see it, motor oil pops to my mind rather than beer.

Name: Asahi Super Dry
Launch: 1987
Ingredients: Malt, hops, rice, corn, starch
Alcohol content: 5%
Tax category: Beer
Company: Asahi Breweries
