Asahi Beer Spritzer

Tastes more like wine, less like beer. I really don't get what the product philosophy behind a hybrid drink like this one. People who wanna drink beer will buy beer and people who wanna drink wine will buy wine. Only beer bloggers like me and those unfortunate ones who left their glasses home while out shopping would buy such a funky product.

Kirin Tanrei

One of the very few happōshus on the market. To be honest, tastewise does not really impress me at all. Tastes kinda like a new genre-type beer. Save your money and get a new genre instead of this one. You won't notice the difference.

Suiyoubi no neko

Wednesday's Cat. Unusual name, but pretty good taste. This one is an interesting product. Although its malt content is well over the 67% percent level which makes it legally beer tax-wise, it contains ingredients (orange peel and coriander seeds) which are banned from "real" beers so it is classified as happōshu.

Ingredients: Malt (barley, wheat), hops, orange peel, coriander seeds
Alcohol content: 4.5%
Tax category: Happōshu (malt content over 99%)
